Modern & Romantic Valentine's Day Wedding at The Foundry Room

Love is in the air - especially when the key word used to describe the vibe is "romantic". For this styled shoot at The Foundry Room in downtown Edmonton, we knew we wanted to design floral arrangements that captured deep rooted feelings of love and adoration. Incorporating classic red and white roses, we modernized the floral arrangements by including Panda anemone, white ranunculus, and sage green eucalyptus - florals that have come into their own in recent years as much desired for wedding designs.

The ceremony design included candles down the aisle for a romantic glow, and the minimalistic copper pipe archway looked elegant and serene with arrangements of deep green foliage, soft pink draped fabric, and a subtle nod to Valentine's Day with the inclusion of paper hearts. We created these pieces without floral foam, choosing to utilize foam free mechanics for a natural and organic look.

Knowing the location of the Foundry Room with its modern & industrial vibe, we wanted to ensure that the florals didn't get lost in the space. By adding rich reds and soft blush hues to the florals, there was a feeling of warmth from the arrangements. For the Bride's bouquet, we wanted to keep the design elegant and classic with a loosely gathered feel - subtle dimension to the stems, lush greenery throughout, and a gently rounded shape.

Taking inspiration from the Bride's bouquet we chose to include ranunculus, soft bunny tail grasses for the Groom's boutonniere. Against his black suit, the florals stood out with the clean lines giving modern vibes while the softness of the ranunculus felt romantic.

Our Sweetheart Table design included the same florals from our Bride's bouquet. We wanted the floral arrangements to flow together and create a cohesive look throughout the day. The black metal backdrop added a strong industrial element the otherwise romantic table-scape.
