The leaves of the Bulbosa Guatemala are stiff and shiny, making them very different from the more typical fuzzy-leaved air plants.
Related to bromeliads, air plants are epiphytes, growing along the branches of trees. They do not have a true root system and instead collect their water and nutrients from their rosette-like leaves.
Air plants prefer bright light and can be watered by soaking in a bowl of room temperature water once a week for about 30 minutes to one hour. They should be allowed to drain upside down before being returned to their upright place.
