Designing with Agra Wool (The Sustainable Florist's Journey Part I) - Sunday March 2nd 1:00PM - 2:30PM

$150.00

Floral foam has been a staple design mechanics for florists across the globe for over half a century. Its popularity stems from both the misconception that it makes flowers last longer, and its ability to create fantastical designs by creating unnatural support for stems. What many don't realize is that floral foam is not only incredibly damaging to our environment as it breaks down into microplastics, it's also damaging to the heath of the designers who interact with it on a daily basis.

Whether you have decided to go foam-free with your floral design business, want to explore sustainable design mechanics, or simply want to gain new design techniques, this hands-on workshop will leave you with valuable tools and knowledge to improve yourself as a sustainable floral designer.

In this workshop, we will focus on:

Selecting flowers for colour, texture, and depth.

Discuss the benefits of sustainable design, and the unique challenges it can present.

Understanding the design process and best practices for arranging flowers.

What's Included:

All tools and materials are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own floral design tools. We will package your completed arrangement for transport home.

Class time will run approximately 1.5 hours.

Located at TwinFlower Studio - 14716 Stony Plain Road in Edmonton. Free parking in front of the Studio.
