Forget the boring bananas you see at the grocery store. (they're soooo mainstream) The Dwarf Cavendish is a superstar among bananas, grown all over the place and a big money maker. But don't let the name fool ya - it's not called "Dwarf" for the size of its fruit, but for the height of the pseudostem. Oh, and did I mention the young plants have a funky maroon and purple splotches on their leaves? Yeah, it's like a banana with attitude. But don't worry, they grow out of it eventually.
